TENANTS had the chance to get a sneak preview of their new homes at a special open day in Inverkeithing’s Fraser Avenue.

The £7.9 million regeneration project – which is being progressed by Kingdom Housing Association in partnership with Fife Council – has seen old flats demolished and the area redeveloped with new, affordable homes.

The first phase of construction started in March last year and includes the provision of 53 new homes for social rent. Completion of the properties will be phased with the first tenants expected to move in at the end of this month.

The new homes have been designed to meet local housing needs and have been built to high energy efficiency standards to help keep fuel bills low for the tenants.

Ashleigh Letham, who will be moving into one of the new homes, said: “It’s been great to watch the regeneration progress and moving into one of the new homes will be amazing. I can’t wait.”

Kingdom Housing Association development manager Julie Watson added: “We’re really pleased to see so many tenants come along to our open day and to hear how excited they are about moving into their new homes.”
