A DRIVER was caught speeding in his sports car at 112mph on the motorway near Halbeath.
Ryan Mutch, 23, of Cransley Garden, Douglas, Lanark, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
Depute fiscal Alistair McDermid said Mutch was spotted speeding by police at around 10pm.
The court was told that he worked in his family’s business restoring classic cars and was driving a sports model on the night of the offence.
Mutch admitted that on June 27 on the M90 at junction 3, Halbeath, he drove a car at a speed exceeding the 70mph speed limit, namely at 112mph.
Sheriff Derek Reekie said: “Clearly there is significant risk to other road users in driving at that speed. The speed is such that a period of disqualification is inevitable.”
He imposed a £600 fine and banned him from driving for six months.
