A MAJESTIC circus-themed fashion show raised a whopping £10,000 for a children’s charity last weekend.

The showstopping event was organised by boutique La Vida in Cairneyhill to celebrate their 10th anniversary.

Over the years, owner Laura Campbell, with the help of her family and friends, has raised more than £100,000 for charity.

This time, the fashion show at Forrester Park on Sunday that attracted more than 300 people was in aid of CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland) – a charity close to Laura’s heart.

She said: “We’ve been running different charity events over the years, but this was a particularly special one because of the shop’s 10-year anniversary and that we were doing it for a charity very close to the family’s heart.

“It was a fantastic day – the fashion show was followed by an after-party with a Take That tribute band.

“We just wanted to do CHAS proud.”

Through their hospices, home care services and hospital presence, CHAS provides palliative care, family respite and support throughout Scotland for youngsters with life-shortening conditions.

The show, which was sponsored by Crossford Taxis, raised money through tickets, a tombola, raffle and auction.
