TWENTY jobs are to be created with the opening of a new Dunfermline eatery later this month.

Delicious, a dessert shop, cafe, coffee house and bakery, will be housed in the former Stephens the Bakers in Guildhall Street and will offer a full range of products from the former occupier.

Manager Stuart Guthrie said customers will have a "vast array of choice" from breakfast, lunch, evening meals and a massive selection of desserts.

"It’s a treat that allows visitors to indulge whether for a celebration, or just to catch up with friends – and we can’t wait to open the doors for those across Dunfermline and beyond to enjoy," he said.

"We aren’t just about desserts we have a full menu to cater for all tastebuds such as buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners, smoothies, milkshakes and, of course, delicious coffee.

"We are bringing back the full Stephens the Bakers range of products, the exact same that many enjoyed before they took the hard decision to close their bakery and store.

"We are sure many locals will be happy to hear they can sit in and enjoy a famous Stephens bridie or morning roll, just like in the past when the branch closed back in May."

With the 20 new members of staff all undergoing intensive artisan dessert training, Stuart said they are keen to ensure every waffle, pancake and slice cake is "picture perfect."

He added: “We are proud of the creations we have designed and experience we have created however, our ultimate mission is to make every guest in Dunfermline leaves with a smile – and nothing would give us more pride and satisfaction that doing just that.”

The store will open from 7am until 11pm Monday to Saturday and from 8am until 11pm on Sundays.

A full delivery service is also planned two weeks after the store launches.
