A 47-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested after a spate of thefts in the Rosyth area.

Police thanked members of the public for their help and said the man was charged after items were stolen from a motor vehicle and a number of attempted thefts.

He was arrested on Tuesday and appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court the following day.

Detective Sergeant Kieran Marsh, of Dunfermline CID, said: “I wish to thank the public for their vigilance, which has allowed us to trace this man.

“I would like to reassure the public that Police Scotland take all reports of this nature seriously and we are committed to bringing those responsible to justice.

“I would encourage anyone who has information regarding these types of offences to contact Police Scotland on 101, or alternatively information can be provided anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
