A TEENAGE serial offender, who is already in detention, is facing more time behind bars after admitting further crimes of disorder.

Taylor Cockerill, 18, struggled with his mum in a Dunfermline nightclub.

On other occasions, he made abusive phone calls and also became involved in a confrontation with police officers.

Cockerill, currently in the youth offenders’ institution, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court and admitted three fresh offences.

On December 17 last year, he made phone calls to a female during which he acted in an aggressive manner, swore and made abusive remarks.

On June 1, at St Leonards Street, Dunfermline, he shouted, swore, acted aggressively towards police officers, uttered abusive remarks, made threats of violence and threats of sexual violence and struck an officer on the head with his finger.

On June 13, at Lourenzo’s, St Margaret Street, Dunfermline, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, acting aggressively and struggled with his mother.

Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia said the incident occurred at around 4.30am when Cockerill and his mother had been put out of the nightclub because they were arguing and then struggling with each other.

“She had been told she was not getting served any more drinks and an argument began between her and the accused which developed into a struggle. They were separated by staff and escorted from the premises.

“Police found his mother lying in the doorway of the premises. The accused became aggressive and began shouting at everyone.”

Defence solicitor Peter Robertson said: “The background to all the offending is that he drinks to excess. He’s someone who can’t drink, I would submit, because his behaviour becomes so bad.”

Sheriff Craig McSherry imposed a two-month custodial sentence for the nightclub offence which will not affect his current earliest release date of January 11.

However, the sheriff deferred sentence on the other two offences until January 30. He pointed out that Cockerill had three previous offences against police officers and warned him to expect another custodial sentence.
