THE sound of music is coming from Dunfermline this Christmas.

The festive spirit is alive and well as two concerts are set for the town this month.

Dunfermline Junior Chorus are first up and they will perform at the Vine Centre on Thursday.

There are 100 children and young people in the four choirs with the concert's programme consisting of a variety of styles.

Concert tickets cost £5 at the door for a 7pm start.

Dunfermline Choral Union's Christmas show then takes place on Saturday night at the Vine.

The 110-strong choir is joined by accompanist Yvonne Ferguson and a string quartet, plus rhythm section.

Mixed with modern classics and ancient melodies, musical director Mandy Miller will have songs to "tingle the spine again this year" as they perform twice on the day at 3pm and 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £12 (adults), £10 (senior citizens/students) and £5 (U18's, school students).

They can be purchased directly from choir members or by e-mailing: dcu_concert_tickets@hotmail.co.uk
