A WEST Fife teacher has shown she is top of the class after scooping a top award.
Townhill Primary School’s Karen Woodhouse received the Best Teacher Award at the Forth Awards 2018 in Edinburgh last week.
The much loved primary seven teacher was put up for the accolade for the extra effort she puts in.
She organises out of school activities such as litter walks and nursing home visits and set up a lending library in the school when Townhill Library closed.
Headteacher Janine Pirouet was delighted with her colleague’s success.
“Mrs Woodhouse participates fully in the life of the school and the community,” she said.
“She is always keen to make a difference to each and every child.
“We are all very proud of her achievement.”
