A yellow weather warning for high winds on Friday has been issued by the Met Office.
Inland gusts of 60-70 mph are possible with gusts of 80 mph in exposed locations in Scotland.
There's uncertainty on where the strongest winds will occur, and heavy rainfall may be an additional hazard.
The weather could bring some disruption. Road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected, with longer journey times and cancellations possible.
Some roads and bridges may close too.
There is a slight chance of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs so watch out.
There is a small chance that injuries and danger to life could occur from flying debris, as well as large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties.
Power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services.
