A DUNFERMLINE man has been jailed for a string of offences including threats with knives and boiling water.

Darren Taylor punched a woman repeatedly and threatened to harm other people, kill police and attack a nurse during two days of violent disorder.

Taylor, 21, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing.

He previously admitted that on August 31, at his home in Craigmyle Street, he shouted, swore, brandished a knife towards a woman and armed himself with two knives.

He also threw a plate at a wall causing it to shatter and causing injury to the woman.

On September 1, at Carnock Road, he shouted, threw a glass at a wall – causing it to smash and injure his hand – smeared blood over his face and clothes, then repeatedly uttered threats of violence towards a male and female complainer.

On the same day and place he assaulted the female complainer by punching her repeatedly on the face, brandished two knives at her, causing her to be struck on the arm with a knife, switched on a kettle and threatened to throw boiling sugar water over her.

On the same day in Fernie Place, Dunfermline and at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, he made threats of violence repeatedly towards police officers, threatened to locate them via social media, threatened to kill them and threatened to harm medical staff should they treat him.

Sheriff Charles MacNair jailed Taylor for 22 months and imposed an 11-month supervised release order.
