A 36-YEAR-OLD man threatened his former partner and vandalised property at her home in Dunfermline.

When police were called, Damir Furdic assaulted a female officer.

Furdic, 36, now of Queen Margaret Drive, Glenrothes, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on September 17, at an address in Dunfermline, he shouted, swore, made threats of violence to his ex-partner and damaged chairs.

He also admitted that on September 18, at Dunfermline police station, he assaulted a female police constable by striking her head with his elbow.

Sheriff Derek Reekie was concerned that Furdic had told a social worker he had no convictions in his native Croatia and had previously admitted being in jail there.

After speaking to his client, defence solicitor Peter Robertson said: “He says he was given a four-month sentence for trying to pay off a police officer. He says that was a common practice at that time.”

The sheriff commented: “It shows me I can’t take what he says at face value.”

Furdic had appeared in court previously for similar offences committed in June when he assaulted his ex-partner.

The sheriff called for reports and Furdic will be sentenced on January 23.
