THERE will be no buses running in Fife on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day and limited services on Boxing Day and January 2.

Stagecoach East Scotland have announced their festive timetables and urged passengers to check before they travel.

Buses will run as normal on Christmas Eve until the evening, with many later journeys ending early or withdrawn, and special timetables will run on certain services only in the Kingdom on Boxing Day.

On December 27 and 28, there will be a Saturday timetable on all routes.

The first journeys on service 747 on December 27 will be the 3.42am bus from St Leonards to Edinburgh Airport; it leaves Halbeath Park and Ride at 4.05am, and the 4.50am bus from Edinburgh Airport to Halbeath P&R.

Normal timetables will run on all routes on December 29 and 30.

Due to road closures for the Edinburgh Hogmanay street party, buses will only be able to stop at Queensferry Street and the bus station in Edinburgh on the evening of Sunday, December 30.

The bus stops on Princes Street won’t be used during this time.
