A SIX-YEAR-OLD Pars fan started the New Year meeting his heroes at East End Park.

Youngster Ashton Duncanson had been in Kirkcaldy's Victoria Hospital over the festive period and was paid a visit from rival club Raith Rovers.

NHS Fife staff captured on video their first team manager John McGlynn meeting Ashton before Christmas, with the Athletic supporter proudly sporting his Pars colours.

It caused hilarity online and Dunfermline manager Allan Johnston wrote to him inviting him to the club’s home match against Alloa.

Ashton, along with his dad and grandad had a behind-the-scenes tour of the undercroft and met favourite player Faissal El Bakhtaoui. Club mascot Sammy the Tammy was also on hand to meet him.

Ashton was then presented with a goody bag by Johnston ahead of kick-off.

He then watched on as the Pars went on to draw the match 2-2, with Alloa scoring a late equaliser in the dying moments.
