A DALGETY BAY man had taken drugs before driving erratically and crashing into a parked vehicle in Crossford.
Appearing for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court was Stewart Smith, 26, formerly of Morlich Road, Dalgety Bay, and currently a prisoner at HMP Glenochil.
He admitted that on June 13, on Main Street, Crossford, he drove when he was unfit through drink or drugs.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said that, at around 7.15am, other motorists became concerned about the erratic driving of Smith.
He was going onto the wrong side of the road, just missing cars and bikes. He then collided with a parked vehicle.
“The owner of the car struck came out of her house. The accused apologised. His speech was slurred and his eyes were glazed,” added the depute.
“Police officers were called and saw the accused staggering. He said he had been drinking the night before.
A blood sample was taken and tests found it contained traces of ecstasy, cocaine and other drugs.
Smith was jailed for six months to run concurrently with his existing sentence. He was also banned from driving for three years.
In November, Smith was jailed for 45 months for drug-dealing and being in possession of an offensive weapon in Dunfermline.
