A DUNFERMLINE man was found sleeping on the stairs of a homeless hostel after being told to leave previously.
David Berry then caused a disturbance when police arrived to move him on.
Berry, 48, a prisoner at Glenochil, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on September 14, at James Bank Hostel, he shouted, swore, made threatening remarks, acted aggressively and struggled with police officers.
Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia said that Berry had previously been banned from the hostel, where he had been staying previously.
He was found sleeping in a stairwell by security staff, who contacted the police when Berry became abusive.
When police carried out checks on Berry, they discovered he was wanted over the non-payment of fines.
“He then took umbrage to being arrested,” added the depute.
Defence solicitor Roshni Joshi said her client has “a chaotic lifestyle when at liberty”.
Sheriff James MacDonald imposed a 14-week jail sentence.
