FIFE COUNCIL say that it remains unclear whether Inverkeithing High School will re-open tomorrow following problems with its water supply.

The school was closed yesterday because of a problem with the meter that supplied the building.

Together with Scottish Water and other partners, the council were working to fix the issue - which involved manufacturing and fitting new pipework - but confirmed last night that the school would remain closed today after the water supply could not be reconnected.

The council had said that they expected the school to open tomorrow (Thursday) but, this afternoon, they say that it is "too early to know" whether that will be possible.

In a social media post, they stated: "There are still a number of checks and processes underway at the school.

"It's too early to know if the water pressure will be sufficient to open the building tonight/tomorrow.

"We'll update you as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience."
