A KELTY man crashed his car into a field then fled the scene.
However, Barry Redpath had left his wallet in the vehicle and was traced quickly by police as he walked home.
After failing an initial breath test, Redpath failed to comply with further procedures.
Redpath, 33, of Union Street, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on July 29, at Dunfermline police station, he failed to provide specimens of breath to officers for analysis for an alcohol reading.
The crash took place on the A909 road between Kelty and Cowdenbeath.
Depute Dev Kapadia said: “At 7.55pm, there had been a road traffic accident which resulted in a car ending up in a field having demolished a 60-foot piece of barrier.”
Redpath’s wallet was found in the car with his bank card in it.
He had left the scene after the crash but was later found walking through Kelty by police.
When officers asked who had been driving the car, he replied: “It was probably me.”
Redpath failed a breath test but later did not complete the required tests at the police station.
Sheriff James MacDonald banned Redpath from driving for 12 months and fined him £650.
