A SEARCH has begun for 20 West Fifers to be the voice of Dunfermline.

Supported by Carnegie Dunfermline Trust, Dunfermline Delivers and with Tourism Destination Development funding from Scottish Enterprise, ONFife Cultural Trust is launching free daily walking tours this summer and is looking for help.

Dunfermline’s Walking Tours will be led by people from Dunfermline who love their town and want to share its amazing stories.

Guides will receive extensive training on public speaking, leading groups and will also help collate the content of new digital tours, set to be launched by August.

In the same way as The Voice UK uses blind auditions for judges to select talented singers, blind auditions will be carried out online and in person during February to recruit volunteers to become town ambassadors and deliver walking tours that will introduce visitors to the ‘Auld Grey Toun’.

The opportunity is open to all over 18 with a passion for the town.

To audition, send a voice recording saying what you love about Dunfermline or what makes you happy or feel proud about living here.

The recording – which should be five minutes long and in .mp3 format – should be sent to DunfermlineTours@gmail.com by midnight on February 14.

Open auditions will also be held at the Kingsgate Centre (next door to Ramsay Travel) with 12 slots available on February 14 between 12-2pm if you prefer to have assistance to record your submission.

For further details, or to book an open audition slot, email mark.macleod@onfife.com.
