A KELTY man went to his ex-partner’s home in the middle of the night and made threats to kill her.

Christopher Jones had been in court for a previous domestic offence just three days before the incident.

Jones, 45, of Main Street, was back in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court to be sentenced for his latest offence.

He admitted that on December 9, at a different address in Kelty, he acted aggressively towards his ex-partner, repeatedly contacted her by phone and text message, attended at her home and banged on a door there repeatedly.

Depute fiscal Katherine Fraser said: “The accused and complainer had been in an on-off relationship for 16 months and it ended on 7th December.

“On 8th December, the complainer returned home from a works night out at about 1am. She went to bed but at around 2.30am she was wakened by banging on the back door which went on for 15 to 20 minutes.

“She was frightened. She went to hide in her child’s bedroom and contacted the police.”

The woman later saw that she had 25 missed calls from Jones’ number.

He had sent messages including: “You’re going to need a new back door”, “Speak to me or I will come and f****** kill you”, “I will drag you out the f****** door” and “I’m coming to get you”.

Jones later told police: “I only wanted to speak to her.”

Sheriff Craig McSherry told Jones: “You had sentence deferred on a previous domestic incident and were admonished on 6th December. Here you were three days later banging on the woman’s door.”

He imposed a community payback order with 120 hours of unpaid work and 12 months’ supervision.
