A DUNFERMLINE man who broke into a shop and later carried out an assault has appeared in court.
Jason MacDonald, 31, of Broomhead Drive, appeared from custody and admitted a string of offences at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
On November 30, at Broomhead Drive, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by brandishing a screwdriver and making threats of violence.
On December 1, he broke into ‘We Repair 4 U’, High Street, Dunfermline and stole a quantity of mobile phones, tablets and electrical items.
On the same day at Carnegie Drive, he assaulted a man by seizing him by the throat, pushing him against a vehicle and punching him on the head.
He was also unlawfully in possession of a screwdriver in Carnegie Drive.
MacDonald also admitted that at Dunfermline police station, he made racially-offensive remarks.
Sheriff Chris Shead deferred sentence until March 7, when MacDonald has other matters calling and he will remain in custody until then.
