VIRGIN Media are set to host a community event in Dunfermline next week.

The company will carry out a demo dig site in the town centre to prepare residents for expansion works in the area.

The event is designed to inform the public on how they will be affected and whether their roads are being cabled.

It comes just a week after the Press told you of a Rosyth man slamming the broadband provider for the state they left his street in.

Ron Evans had been left angered by the state of Daniel Place since the company started laying broadband cables in the area.

Virgin Media staff will be on the ground next Wednesday, February 27, from 11am to 6pm on High Street as part of the demo dig.

Those attending are encouraged to ask questions and find out more about the work.

In Dunfermline and across Fife, Virgin Media has connected more than 20,000 premises and more are scheduled in the coming months.

It is being done in efforts to boost the average download speed locally, which is currently 34.6mbps.
