THE Gruffalo in Dunfermline's Public Park has been damaged after vandals targeted it once again.
The seven-foot statue at the entrance to School Wood was pushed to the ground over the weekend.
It arrived in the town at the end of 2017 after Central Dunfermline Community Council (CDCC) ran a consultation asking local schoolchildren what play equipment they would like to have in the park.
The feature has since been vandalised several times, and Jim Stewart, CDCC chairman, said talks would now take place on how to prevent it happening again.
He said: "It seems as though a group of teenagers have had their fun and toppled it again.
"It's unfortunate that a minority of kids do this. It's a bit sad.
"There's no ready answer on how to control and prevent it from happening but we will have discussions as a community council to see whether it can be staked into the ground so it can't be toppled.
"A group of dads had to work together to get it back on its feet the last time."
