A PASSENGER was removed from a train at Inverkeithing Railway Station on Sunday after a disturbance onboard.
Police were called to deal with the incident which took place on the 17.34pm Edinburgh to Dundee service.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said they were called shortly after 6pm to reports of a fight.
He added: "Officers attended and arrested a 44-year-old man from London on suspicion of assault."
As a result of the incident, ScotRail said some services between Edinburgh and Fife, Perth, Dundee and Aberdeen were subject to delay and alteration from approximately 6pm until 7.30pm.
A ScotRail spokesperson added: “Anti-social behaviour on Scotland’s railway is completely unacceptable, and we will work with the British Transport Police to clamp down on this unacceptable behaviour.
“The safety of our customers and employees is our number one priority – everyone should be able to go about their journey in peace.”
