A LIVE music night held in memory of a former Fire Station Creative director has raised £673 for Prostate Scotland.

The contemporary arts hub hosted its second event in honour of Bob Moir, who died aged 66 in 2016 after a year-long battle with prostate cancer.

November's gig was organised by close friend Alan Forrester, and his three-piece band, Steamer Lane, performed songs alongside singer-songwriter Sandy Power.

Morag Idan, of Prostate Scotland, said: "We are extremely grateful to Steamer Lane, Sandy Power and Fire Station Creative for their continuing support of our work by performing and hosting this special fundraising concert in November to raise much-needed awareness about prostate cancer, and to raise money to support our work to tackle prostate cancer and disease.

"Their support is a wonderful help to us in our work to enable many more men and their families across Scotland to have access to information about the most common cancer in men in Scotland, and to also further support our work to help encourage early diagnosis, as early diagnosis can often lead to more successful treatment and cure."

Bob and his son, Ian, gallery curator, played a key role in renovating the former fire station on Carnegie Drive into a thriving arts hub.

The first charity concert held for Bob in 2017 raised £532 for Prostate Scotland, and a third is set to take place at the end of this year.

Steamer Lane, Sandy Power and guests will play on Thursday, November 14. Tickets will be available from the venue.
