A MAN was jailed for six months after police found him in a car in Dunfermline with his former partner.

She had apparently asked Chad Munnoch, 22, to meet with a view to rekindling their relationship but there was a non-harassment order in place against him.

And a sheriff sent him to prison for ignoring the order.

Munnoch appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court and admitted that, being subject to a non-harassment order in relation to his former partner, he breached this by being with her in a car on March 2 at Cairneyhill Road, Dunfermline.

Depute fiscal Katherine Fraser said that police on mobile patrol stopped a black BMW at 12.25am.

When checks were carried out by officers, they found out that there was a non-harassment order in place.

Defence solicitor Stephen Morrison said: “He was contacted by her by text asking to resurrect their relationship.

“It is her vehicle and he was there at her invitation. He finds himself where he is because of stupidity.”

Sheriff Craig McSherry said: “A non-harassment order is a very serious matter and nothing has been done to remove it.”

Munnoch, of South Street, Lochgelly, was given six months.
