AN ACT of vandalism by a Comrie man has landed him with a £670 compensation bill.

Marc Waters smashed a window at a house in the village but the act was aimed at the former occupier of that property.

Waters, 34, of Porterfield, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He previously admitted that on January 21 at Tapitlaw Grove, Comrie, he destroyed property belonging to another by smashing a window.

Defence solicitor James Beatson said an issue “of a sensitive nature” had been behind the incident.

Sheriff James MacDonald told Waters: “You may have had an axe to grind with the former occupier of that property but the present occupier has the loss to bear.”

He ordered Waters to pay £670 compensation.
