A DUNFERMLINE man kicked his partner in the stomach during a row about Facebook messages.

Dean Frame, 23, of Bute Crescent, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on February 5 at his then home in Lomond Crescent, he shouted, swore, acted aggressively and made offensive remarks towards his partner.

He also assaulted her by pushing her, causing her to fall to the floor, and struck her on the body.

Depute fiscal Kavin Ryan-Hume said that at 5am Frame woke up his partner who had been sleeping in the living room.

He was upset about messages on Facebook and began calling her abusive names such as “fat bitch”.

“He pushed her from the chair on to the floor and she injured her hand. She went to the kitchen and called the police. She also called a friend who lives in the same street,” added the depute.

“The accused then kicked her in the stomach.”

Sheriff James MacDonald said: “It’s an unpleasant offence.”

He imposed a community payback order with 160 hours of unpaid work and 18 months’ supervision.
