All train lines passing through North Queensferry rail station have been closed after a vehicle collided with a bridge in Inverkeithing.
Police have confirmed the incident happened at the rail bridge in Hope Street.
They were contacted at 11.20am by Network Rail. It appears something on an HGV crashed into the bridge at around 10.30am.
Network Rail confirmed the incident was reported by a member of the public and the vehicle was not there when engineers or police arrived.
As a result, trains between Haymarket and Kirkcaldy/ Cowdenbeath may be delayed or revised.
Network Rail have now examined the bridge and have confirmed that services can now run as booked.
ScotRail say they are working hard to get services back to schedule. In the meantime, they have ticket acceptance in place with Stagecoach East on the Fife Circle line.
Disruption is expected until 13:00.
