A DUNFERMLINE schoolgirl has danced her way into the finals of STV’s Strictly Kids 2019.

Rhianne McAllister, 11, beat off competition from over 300 youngsters to make it into the glitzy final which will take place in Glasgow in May.

The Masterton Primary pupil has been dancing since the age of three and dad Kevin and mum Samantha said they were “super proud” of her latest success.

“It is a great achievement,” Kevin told the Press.

“She is over the moon to get through and absolutely delighted to be part of it.”

After finding out she had made it through, Rhianne was set to meet her dancing partner for the event on Saturday.

“They will be coached professionally for the next few weeks on a Latin ballroom dance – Rhianne is hoping for a fast paced rock and roll or jive number,” added Kevin, of Dover Park.

“She is part of the Edinburgh Dance Academy and does commercial, contemporary, ballet, acro and jazz. She has 10 classes a week and is dancing every single night.”

This isn’t Rhianne’s only recent dancing success, she has just bagged the part of the young Bonnie in the Bonnie and Clyde musical which is being performed at the Edinburgh Festival in August.

Because the Strictly Kids contest is part of the STV Children’s Appeal, Rhianne is also focusing on raising cash for the event too.
