A SCOTTISH punk trailblazer fae’ Fife is counting down the days before she plays her hometown.

Fans of legendary band The Rezillos will no doubt flock to Dunfermline later this month to see its lead singer’s latest project.

Fay Fife started the Countess of Fife in late 2016 alongside guitarist Lord Allan McDowall, from post-punk country outfit So You Think You’re A Cowboy.

Together they find inspiration from country, punk, early R&B, gospel and soul, and they can’t wait to play Fire Station Creative on Friday, March 22.

Fay said: “Dunfermline is my hometown and I’m delighted it now has a creative centre in Fire Station Creative.

“The Countess of Fife is a musical project that is very close to my heart and it will be a pleasure to play our music to the Fire Station audience.”

Lord Allan added: “Fire Station Creative is a wonderful artistic hub and it will be great playing there and supporting it.”

They’re in the process of self-producing their debut album, packed with their ‘insurgent country’ tracks, which will be aired to their Dunfermline audience.

But followers of The Rezillos who may be holding out for a couple of fan favourite tunes on the night will be left disappointed, as that material won’t be touched.

Support will be provided by Dunfermline music scene regulars The Cognac Twins.

The venue is familiar territory for Craig Anderson and Paul Connolly as fans turned out in numbers for the launch of their debut album at the same location two years ago, with countless gigs held there since.

Tickets are on sale for £10 via Eventbrite and from the cafe at Fire Station Creative.

Doors open at 7pm with music from 7.30pm.
