DALGETY BAY Post Office has closed following the resignation of the branch’s postmaster.

The news was confirmed to the Press by a Post Office spokesperson who stressed that it was a “temporary” closure and they would work hard to maintain services in the area.

However, the company does not own the premises, at Regents Way. The nearest Post Office services for residents will now be at Inverkeithing High Street or Aberdour.

A Post Office spokesperson said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of Dalgety Bay Post Office following the resignation of the postmaster and withdrawal of premises for Post Office use.

“While we always work hard to maintain Post Office services, we are not the owner of the premises and regrettably, we are unable to reopen the branch at present.

"We understand how important a Post Office can be to a community and would like to reassure customers that we are working hard to restore services to them as soon as possible.

“Any retailer or small business owner interested in running the Post Office and incorporating it into their business should email NTquestions@postoffice.co.uk or visit www.runapostoffice.co.uk.”
