A FAMILY wedding ended in a court appearance for one High Valleyfield woman.

Nicola Rowe, 31, of Pentland Terrace, brandished a knife and threatened to harm herself before fighting with her partner.

Appearing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday, Rowe had previously admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at a property in Burns Street on September 16 last year.

She admitted shouting, swearing, acting in an aggressive manner towards her partner, throwing objects across the kitchen, brandishing a knife, uttering threats to harm herself and fighting with her partner.

Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said an argument started after the couple had attended a family wedding where they had consumed alcohol.

Police were initially called after items were heard to be thrown around the kitchen, however, they said there didn't seem to be any signs of a disturbance.

At around 5.50am, another row started and Rowe took a kitchen knife out of the drawer and made threats to kill herself. There was then a struggle between the couple and police were contacted again.

Solicitor James Moncrieff said alcohol had been consumed by both parties.

"They had been going through quite a difficult time when all this had happened," he said. "She accepts that the argument escalated during the course of which she made threats to harm herself."

Sheriff Craig McSherry placed Rowe on a community payback order with supervision for 12 months.
