A DRINK-DRIVER who was more than four times over the limit was then found be in possession of a knife.
However, Gabriel-Claudiu Merchea did not turn up for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
The court was told that Merchea was now back in his native Romania.
Merchea, 42, of Caledonia Court, Rosyth, previously admitted that on December 8, at Queen Anne Street, Dunfermline, he drove a van having consumed excess alcohol.
His reading was 90 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 22 microgrammes.
He also admitted that at Queen Anne Street and at Dunfermline police station, he was unlawfully in possession of a knife.
Sheriff Keith O’Mahony granted a warrant for Merchea’s arrest.
