Essential road resurfacing work will begin on Masterton Road in Dunfermline later this month.

Work will start on Monday, April 22 and should take around three weeks.

It is expected to finish on Sunday, May 12.

As access to the Crematorium is only available from Masterton Road, it is expected to cause delays for visitors there.

Bereavement Lead Officer Avril Guild explained: "Temporary traffic controls will be in place and, while the crematorium car park will remain open, no parking will be available on Masterton Road during this time.

"We're advising visitors of the possible noise and parking issues they may encounter and recommend that they adjust their arrival times to minimise delays to services."

The work will include the entrance and exit to Dunfermline Crematorium over the weekend of May 11 and 12.

The Crematorium car park will be closed that weekend with pedestrian access only for the Memorial Gardens and Bereavement Services Office.

Avril added: "Regrettably, there will be unavoidable noise from the road works. We will ensure that every effort will be made to minimise noise during service times and apologise for any inconvenience these essential works may cause."
