A KELTY man assaulted his wife and her son during an early morning incident at their home.

He admitted that on March 12 at his former home at Beechbank Crescent, Kelty, he assaulted his wife by seizing her by the neck, raising his clenched his fist at her and holding her down on a sofa.

He also admitted he assaulting her 18-year-old son by punching him on the head to his injury.

Depute fiscal Katherine Fraser said the incident began when his wife tried to wake up the accused who was sleeping on the sofa at around 7.30am.

“He jumped up and became angry and agitated,” added the depute.

He had grabbed her, raised his clenched fist and said: “There’s no witness now.”

The second victim came into the room and was struck on the face during a struggle.

Defence solicitor Elaine Buist said the couple’s relationship was now at an end.

Sheriff Keith O’Mahony told Banks: “This was clearly a very heated situation and you have demonstrated remorse.”
