THE manager of Lochore Meadows was shocked after he said Viagra pills were found inside an egg capsule.

The discovery was made on Wednesday last week by a young boy from Kelty who thought he'd found a chocolate Kinder egg.

His mum opened it to find small blue tablets and reported the find to the police.

Ian Laing, the country park’s manager, stressed that staff make daily checks to ensure children’s play areas are kept safe.

He said: “Every play area we have is searched and litter picked early each morning, so the plastic capsule that was discovered must have been accidentally dropped after 7.30am.

“I believe the tablets in the capsule were of the Viagra variety which some people use as something which can give energy boosts. These small capsules are ideal for people wanting to carry small quantities of tablets they may need and what happened on Wednesday looks like the capsule fell out of a person’s pocket.

“Clearly it is something that should not be found in a playpark but we do everything we can to ensure that the playparks are kept as clean as possible.

“Our aim is to provide top quality facilities for families in a lovely setting and this situation has been a real concern for me and our staff."

Police confirmed that the “over-the-counter medication” was disposed of following the incident.

A police spokesperson said: “Police in Fife received a report that tablets had been found inside a small plastic container at Lochore Meadows Country Park on April 10.

“These were established to be over-the-counter medication and were disposed of. No further police action is required."
