SIR Chris Hoy is on track for Dunfermline this year for a charity fundraiser.

The 43-year-old Scottish cyclist is the UK’s most successful ever Olympian and will take to the Alhambra Theatre stage for a special one-off evening.

The event is being held in support of the East Neuk Wheelchair Appeal Charity, with Fife-born TV and radio presenter Edith Bowman hosting the show.

The Edinburgh racer won his first Olympic gold medal in Athens 2004 in the Kilo, an event which was dropped prior to Beijing in 2008.

He changed focus and competed in the Keirin, Sprint and Team Sprint instead, winning gold in all three.

Following the historic hat-trick, Sir Chris was voted the BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2008 and received a knighthood in the New Year’s Honours list to cap off a fine year.

He would go on to win his fifth and six gold medals – in the Keirin and Team Sprint – at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, becoming the UK’s most decorated Olympic athlete of all time with six gold medals and one silver.

Following his retirement in June 2016, he added to his record list of achievements when he finished the world’s most demanding motorsport endurance race, the Le Mans 24 Hours, on his debut.

The 11-time world champion cyclist will come to Dunfermline on Tuesday October 8.

The tickets cost £25 and are available from the theatre box office on 01383 740384, or alternatively via: www.ticketmaster.co.uk.

The show starts at 7.30pm.
