A 65-YEAR-OLD Rosyth man has been banned for drink-driving.

Robert Strachan, of The Byres, who was more than twice the limit, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on April 2, on the A92 between Kirkcaldy and Halbeath, he drove a car having consumed excess alcohol.

His reading was 54 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 22 microgrammes.

Sheriff Derek Reekie fined Strachan £600 and banned him from driving for 12 months.
