A PENSIONER almost caused a head-on crash by driving on the wrong side of a dual carriageway in Dunfermline.
The driver of a vehicle coming in the opposite direction had to brake heavily to avoid a collision.
Charles Stahly, 78, of Martin Crescent, Ballingry, submitted a guilty plea through his solicitor at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on January 18, in Sanderling Way, Dunfermline, he drove a car carelessly, drove on the wrong side of a dual carriageway into the path of an oncoming car, causing its driver to brake heavily to avoid a head-on collision.
Sheriff Charles MacNair deferred sentence until May 31 for Stahly to appear personally.
