Inverkeithing High School will re-open tomorrow after a burst water pipe was repaired.

The leak, which was discovered during routine repairs to a fire hydrant, led to the school being closed today to all pupils except those sitting exams.

A Fife Council statement said: "Repairs to the pipework have been done and the water supply has been reinstated to the school. Systems have been tested and are fully operational.

"The SQA examination programme went ahead this afternoon with minimal impact on pupils.

"The community use wing is not affected and activities due to take place there will carry on as normal."

Fife Council said the incident was unrelated to the water supply problem the school experienced in February, when it was forced to close for three days.
