MOTORISTS who use the Kincardine Bridge are set to face more disruption when six weeks of roadworks begin next month.

Resurfacing work is to begin on Tuesday June 4 at 8pm, and continue until Saturday July 20 at midnight, affecting traffic using the A985 in both directions.

Road closures will be in operation between June 4-8, while temporary traffic lights will be in operation for the remainder of the works.

It follows on from a sixth phase maintenance work that was carried out on the bridge between October 10 and November 30 last year, which involved improving the road surface and bridge deck waterproofing.

The £300,000 project also included new expansion joints to the southern viaduct span section and aimed to benefit around 13,000 vehicles that use the crossing every day, and was the penultimate phase of an ongoing refurbishment programme.
