A MAN who died in a road accident on the M90 near Kelty on Sunday morning has been named by police. 

Michael Little, 42, from High Valleyfield, was driving a Skoda Fabia, shortly after 7 am on May 26  on the northbound carriageway, between Kelty and Blairadam, when a car left the road and collided with a tree.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police Scotland can now confirm the identity of the man who died following a road traffic collision on the M90 on Sunday 26th May as Michael Little (42) from High Valleyfield in Fife.

"Mr Little was the driver of a Skoda Fabia which was travelling northbound before leaving the road between junctions 4 and 5. No other vehicles were involved.

"Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time." 

Another passenger in the car was seriously injured after a road traffic collision. 

The injured man has been taken to hospital in Edinburgh and inquiries into the collision are ongoing.

Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time of the accident and witnessed the collision to come forward quoting incident number 1207 of May 26.

The accident saw traffic build up as the northbound carriageway was closed and police diverted cars, vans and lorries through Kelty for a considerable time while investigations went on at the scene.
