WEST FIFERS have been invited to have their say about a proposed industrial development in Dunfermline.

There is an open event this evening (Thursday) where representatives from Almond Real Estate will outline plans for a site off Sandpiper Drive, across the road from Amazon's fulfilment centre.

They've submitted a proposal of application notice to Fife Council which gives them a 12-week consultation period before a planning application can be tabled.

The firm also met members of Halbeath and Duloch Community Council last week to answer questions about the development.

They're seeking permission to build 190,000 square feet of class 4, 5 and 6 industrial units on the site, which covers business, general industrial and storage or distribution uses, as well as car-parking and access roads.

The land is zoned in FIFEplan, the council's local development plan, which maps out what can be built and where, for industrial use.

Agents for the firm said it was too early in the process to talk about which companies could potentially occupy the new units.

The public event will take place in Duloch Library from 5-7pm.
