BRAVE West Fife boy Daniel Cornet met up with Mickey Mouse and friends earlier this month – thanks to the Make a Wish Foundation.

Little Daniel, 4, from Cairneyhill, had a kidney transplant in December 2017 after being born with end stage renal failure.

The condition meant that from the age of 10 months until the vital surgery, he had to endure 10 hours of dialysis treatment every day to fight infection.

The former winner of the Press Bonny Baby competition travelled to Paris for the special treat with his mum Louise and dad Nicky.

"It was amazing," said Louise. "He was just completely mesmerised by it all. He just loved it and was so happy. We had left the fireworks until the last night and, at the end, he said his wish now was to come back to Disney again.

"He thoroughly enjoyed it."

Since his operation, Daniel has continued to make progress despite several setbacks along the way.

"He is doing OK," added Louise. "We are still waiting for more test results. He has started to eat now and he has got the energy to run about with his friends and things so thinks have really changed for him.

"He is still at nursery but starts school after the summer. He got his new tie yesterday for that so was excited about that."
