AN APPEAL has been launched to find the owner of a heavily pregnant cat that was picked up in Dunfermline.

The black and white cat was found on Craigmyle Street on Friday, May 31, after it was reported that she had been straying in the area for more than a week.

The Scottish SPCA are now eager to track down its owner.

Scottish SPCA inspector Nicola Liddell said: “A member of the public contacted us to report the cat had been straying in the area for over a week and they had concerns about her condition given she is expecting a litter of kittens.

“The animal care team at our rescue and rehoming centre in Angus is taking good care of her, but we would like to speak with her owner as we are concerned she may have been abandoned.”

If you recognise this cat or have any information on who may own her, please contact the Scottish SPCA’s animal helpline on 03000 999 999.
