A POLICE dog sniffed out youngsters hiding in a cupboard after they broke in to a disused hotel in Dunfermline.
Officers received reports that three people had forced entry into the old Halfway House Hotel at Kingseat on Sunday evening.
When they attended the scene at 10.35pm they had police dog Oz to thank for locating the culprits who were trying to hide in a cupboard.
PD Oz found them on the top floor of the building which closed surprisingly at the start of 2015.
Police Scotland's dogs unit team posted on Twitter: "Last night (Sunday) we received a report of three persons breaking into a disused hotel in the Dunfermline area.
"PD Oz carried out a search of the building and found all three hiding in a cupboard on the top floor. #hideandseeklosers"
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "The youngsters were charged by police in front of their parents."
