THERE is something for everyone during this year's Ruthin Festival.

It runs in the town between June 22 and 30.

Festival vice-chair Jim Bryan said: "The voluntary committee, which organises the festival, has worked particularly hard this year to ensure everything is in place and all the arrangements are in place.

"It is their dedication and hundreds of hours of volunteer time that makes the festival happen from year to year."

Gwion Tomos, the festival committee chair: "There is an extensive programme planned with includes everything from art workshops and folk music, to a Shakespeare play and classical music, to a poetry session and of course the town’s annual carnival.

"We are particularly looking forward to celebrating the 25th occasion the festival has been held, but also a new element which is a member of the local history group, Roger Edwards, giving a talk about the history of the town.

"The talk will be held at the Awelon Community Centre on the afternoon of Sunday, June 30 at 2pm and all are welcome to learn more about the long and interesting history of Ruthin."
