Glasgow's most famous Indie son Gerry Cinnamon will play a hometown gig this year.

The Castlemilk-born rock star, best known for hit Belter, told Radio X that people have "lost it" if they think there will be no Glasgow shows.

His promise comes after he announced a string of UK arena tour shows across the UK - except Glasgow.

Gerry, who is due to support Liam Gallagher during a massive gig in Cork, Ireland this Sunday, told host Gordon Smart the reason behind his decision to hold back announcing Glasgow dates.

He said: "Sometimes when you’re playing certain festivals you’re no’ allowed to announce other dates, if you know what I mean?

"But if folk think I’m no’ going to be playing my hometown, they’ve lost it.

"I’m going to get in to trouble, you’ve got me into trouble!"

The singer, who made his name in Glasgow's music scene, also said he is working on new music following the success of his debut album Erratic Cinematic. He recently has also been teasing fans with new song Canter during some of his live shows.

He said: "I’ve got a load of stuff that I’ve recorded that I’m choking to just drop as soon as possible, but Canter, I had to release that, everybody’s waiting on it, I’ve no’ got a choice. But it’s a banger.

"I've been getting a bit of writing done, a bit of recording done and I just want to get out as much new music as I can before I end up spontaneously combusting."

He joked: "He’d get my vote, 100%."
