THE petrol station at the Asda Halbeath store will close on Sunday for around 11 weeks.
The supermarket recently received planning permission from Fife Council to turn it into a fully automated facility.
To allow the work to take place, it will be shut from 8pm on Sunday with the 'new look' petrol station due to open in September.
It will operate solely as a Pay at Pump facility with no retail offer or kiosk.
Asda will also decommission and remove four underground fuel tanks and replace them with two 75,000 litre storage tanks.
The number of fuel pumps will remain the same.
