The Yard in Rosyth is no more after a bulldozer began ripping it down today (Monday).

Locals have finally had their prayers answered after putting up with months of vandalism at the former pub at Admiralty Road where multiple fires have been set by youths.

The site's property developers, Mactaggart & Mickel, previously told the Press that they had been attempting to start demolition of the building for a number of months.

Planning permission was granted by Fife Council last April for Lidl to build a store in Rosyth. The proposals included flattening the pub and using the adjacent Rosyth FC football pitch to build their store and car park.

Last month, the Press reported that the chain remained committed to opening in the town despite rumours they had walked away from the plans.
